February 5th, 2013 by Kelly McLain
The Portland Timbers announced today that second-year forward/midfielder Brent Richards has undergone successful arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn ACL and lateral meniscus tear in his left knee. He’ll be out approximately six months.
Richards, from Camas, Wash., was the team’s first Homegrown Player signing just over a year ago. He sustained the knee injury on January 26th during the team’s final training session before heading to Arizona. Richards did not travel with the team to Tucson.
