Boyd, who was photographed by the club’s website, is wearing no. 28 and is smiling while chatting with Miller. How exactly the Timbers’ highest paid player fits into new manager Caleb Porter’s plans remains a mystery, though it does seem clear that Boyd will return to Portland to see out his two-year contract.
