Timbers right back Kosuke Kimura is currently in Poland, beginning a trial at first division side Wisła Kraków today. According to the Wisła website, Kimura is a free agent. Kimura, the final player acquired under John Spencer’s tenure, arrived in Portland after a July 5 trade that sent allocation money and an international slot to Colorado Rapids. The revelation that he has already left Portland and is actively on trial elsewhere all but confirms the widely held notion that Kimura would not return in 2013. His name does remain on the club’s roster page, though that will likely not reflect any changes until the end of the season, when contracts expire.
